Ghanaian actress Haillie Sumney recently recounted a humorous yet unexpected incident that transpired at a nightclub, during which she found herself unexpectedly responsible for settling a bill after a man who had ordered drinks for her vanished.
During a storytelling session on Keeping It 100 show which is broadcast on Nkonkonsa TV, Haillie recounted an incident: “A funny story is one time I went to a club, and I was drinking, you know, having drinks, having champagne and then a guy ordered more champagne for me from his table and then bill came, and he disappeared he was in the parking lot, by the time the waiters got to him, he had run away.”
The actress promptly clarified that she had not requested the additional champagne. She informed the waitstaff, “I told the waiters, ‘I didn’t order it he did, so you better find him. Take his license plate number!
Despite her objections, the waitress approached her again to request payment. “They asked me to pay, and I said, ‘Did you hear me ask for more drinks? Go find that man!’”
The incident led to Haillie, her co-guest, and the host sharing a moment of humor regarding the absurdity of being ghosted with a bill, while simultaneously highlighting a common issue frequently experienced in nightclubs.
