Henry Amponsah, widely recognized as Henry Fitz on social media, has allegedly been apprehended by law enforcement.
Although information about the arrest is limited, news of his capture appeared online on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, suggesting a link to the extortion case related to GHOne TV presenter Serwaa Amihere.
Earlier this year, a private video with Henry Fitz and Serwaa Amihere surfaced online. Claims indicated that Henry Fitz published the video following an unsuccessful effort to blackmail Serwaa for cash.
On April 3, 2024, Serwaa submitted a report to the police, resulting in a case at the Dansoman Circuit Court located in Accra.
Court documents disclosed that Henry Fitz, together with Edem Saviour Ketti and Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, confronted four counts, including conspiracy to engage in the non-consensual distribution of private images, non-consensual distribution of intimate images, and sexual extortion.
As Ketti and Ababio faced arrest and court proceedings, Henry Fitz, purportedly the individual seen in the leaked video, went into seclusion.
In August 2024, the Dansoman Circuit Court threw out the case because of insufficient jurisdiction. Henry Fitz has reportedly been arrested and is presently detained at the Greater Accra Regional Police Headquarters.
The apprehension is said to be connected to the extortion case, yet the details around it are still vague.
This progress has rekindled public curiosity. Currently, the police have not issued an official statement to confirm the arrest or offer more details.
