Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has revealed a profound personal transformation, crediting the Holy Spirit with healing her from seven significant life struggles including anger issues, depression, sexual immorality, and a past suicide attempt.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on October 22, 2025, titled “7 Things the Holy Spirit Healed Me From,” the actress shared that her spiritual awakening came after life taught her some of its “harshest lessons without mercy,” leading her to return to her “first love” God.
Dikeh described previously struggling with uncontrollable anger that damaged relationships and opportunities. “My anger was not power; it was pain disguised as control. But one day, I broke down and cried out like a child. I was tired of being ruled by my emotions,” she wrote.
The mother of one also disclosed her battle with severe depression, revealing it once led her to attempt suicide. “Depression was my closest companion, and I attempted suicide. But God said, ‘Child, get up,’” she shared, describing how this spiritual encounter became a turning point.
Additionally, Dikeh spoke about embracing celibacy after abandoning what she termed “sexual immorality,” calling this commitment “one of the most powerful experiences” of her life.
While acknowledging that her transformation hasn’t been easy, the actress emphasized that it has brought her a peace she once thought unattainable, offering hope to others facing similar struggles.
