Eno Barony, one of Ghana’s best female rappers, has recounted how her churchgoers prayed against her career advancement when they learned of her journey in the music industry.
She claimed that after seeing her picture and the new trade she was engaged in, her church prayed against her knowledge because they felt it was not from God.
When word spread that she was a musician, namely a rapper, they devised a plan to hinder her music career since, in their opinion, she was born to be a preacher and was not meant to do anything else.
She thought back to how they had hung her picture in the church and prayed that nothing, not even her singing, would be a success.
She said, “We’re great, albeit it wasn’t easy in the beginning,” when questioned about her relationship with her father.
The hardcore rhymer further revealed the hard decision she took just to make sure her music career thrived.
“I first tried to hide it,” she said. Because I’m on TV and everywhere, it became a problem, and I disguised it until I couldn’t hide it any more. From home, I had to flee.
