Veteran Ghanaian filmmaker, Socrate Safo has stated his concurrence with Brother Sammy’s suggestion for young men to steer clear of marriage.
In a recent interview on Neat FM, Brother Sammy suggested that men should focus on having children instead of getting married.
Although he is married, he insists that marriage provides more advantages to women than men and would not advise others to enter into it.
He stated that although marriage can result in feelings of being ignored, a child’s love always stays steady.
In line with Brother Sammy’s thoughts, Ghanaian filmmaker Socrate Safo affirmed his agreement in a discussion with Okay FM.
He stated, “I agree with what Brother Sammy said. It’s not a bad thing to have a child with a lady you aren’t married to. All this happened in the Bible; back then it was a norm. We had prophets who had children with their concubines. Children of concubines were not bastards that they got rid of.”
Safo also pointed out that in the present societal setting, having children outside of wedlock could potentially be more widely embraced.
“Looking at the world we find ourselves in now, I believe it will be a norm that you have a child with a lady you are not married to,” he added.
