George Quaye has voiced his disappointment with Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture-designate John Dumelo for failing to ‘enlighten’ Habib Iddrisu, the MP for Tolon, during the ministerial vetting process.
In a February 26, 2025, interview on Hitz FM, George Quaye emphasized that John Dumelo ought to have addressed the MP after the warning about not treating his political career lightly, highlighting that his responsibility lay outside the film sector.
“I was quite a bit disappointed in my brother John Dumelo for not calling it out right there. But I would not fault him because he was at his vetting and didn’t want to sound rude,” he said.
George Quaye mentioned that he would have rectified Habib Iddrisu had he been in John Dumelo’s position.
“If it were me, George Quaye, I would have used this as a perfect opportunity to make a statement for a sector that made me before agric sector discovered me,” he added.
