Outgoing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has committed to enhancing the lives of those impacted by the Kantakanto fire incident.
This pledge follows Dr. Bawumia’s visit to the victims, showing his support for those affected by the calamity.
Addressing the victims, Dr Bawumia conveyed his sincere compassion, noting that the heartbreaking event had not only influenced the victims but also had a significant effect on him personally.
Although other senior officials from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been to the site, Dr. Bawumia was driven to see the destruction up close.
Dr. Bawumia promised the victims that although he would soon leave office, he would do all he could to restore the market.
In addition, he vowed to utilize his knowledge of digital technology to set up CCTV cameras in the market, intended to enhance transparency and accountability.
The Kantakanto fire incident has caused many traders and business owners to be in a state of confusion.
