Ghkwaku.com reported on Wednesday that “Celebrated Actress Nana Ama Mcbrown is engaged, Ghkwaku.com can confirm. Earlier on today at the Lizzy Sports complex where Ghana celebrities were training for their upcoming charity match against Nigeria celebrities on Sunday, the actress was spotted wearing a ring which indicates she is officially engaged”.
The “Madam Mock” actress has however denied the reports insisting that she and her boyfriend Maxwell Mensah are still very much in love and planning to marry soon but it hasn’t happened yet. Nana Ama added that they are very happy together whether they are married or not but “the truth is that we are not married there hasn’t been any proposal and I am not engaged”.
Explaining the ring spotted on her finger, Nana toldPeacefmonline.com this morning that she came from a movie set where her role required that she wears the ring and she went straight to the training grounds from the movie location and she forgot to take it off. “That is why you see make up on my face during the training. I don’t do make up when I am playing soccer”.
Nana Ama had this to tell bloggers and journalists who are interested in writing about her; “Anyone who wants to do an authentic story about me should just ask me. So why didn’t the blogger just ask me about the ring when he saw it on my finger for me to give him the right information, rather than just putting out false information to discredit his platform”.
Asked when she would get married, Nana Ama refused to give a specific date but hinted that she would definitely marry before the end of the year.
Graphic Showbiz reported in January that Nana Ama McBrown and her boyfriend, Maxwell, had planned to tie the knot in April this year at a rather low-key event, but the actress said she has never mentioned the date of marriage to any media person because they haven’t settled on a date yet.
Nana Ama and Maxwell who have dated for some years now had been rumoured to be ready to tie the knot a number of times in the past but those reports never saw the light of day. The lovebirds were in the news two years ago when they were involved in a frightening motor accident on the N1 Highway in Accra which resulted in injuries to the actress.
The versatile actress, who has acted in numerous movies in both Kumawood and glamour productions, as well as a number of TV series, also hinted that she would be doing a lot of productions this year and has a lot lined up for her.
