Media personality Nana Romeo has officially announced his next career move following his recent exit from Accra FM.
On May 26, 2025, Nana Romeo took to Instagram to confirm the end of his longstanding working relationship with the Accra-based station, marking the close of a significant chapter in his broadcasting career.
However, in a recent interview with Sammy Kay on May 30, Nana Romeo revealed that he will be joining Despite Media, fulfilling a dream he’s harbored since 2016.
“In 2016, Abeiku Santana showed interest in politics. Since then, I have wanted to work at OKAY FM. Abeiku Santana has always been my role model. I loved him from day one,” Nana Romeo said.
He added, “Finally, after almost 10 years at Accra FM, I am moving to a new family — a family that has always been in my heart. I’ve always loved to be with Despite Media, precisely with OKAY FM.”
When asked if he would be replacing Abeiku Santana as host of the popular drive-time show Ekwanso Dwoodwoo on OKAY FM, Nana Romeo confirmed the speculation circulating on social media.
“I am going to play the Drive. Abeiku has Despite Media at heart, but you know, there will come a time when he will leave the seat for someone to take over. He is a big personality in the media space. I know I am going to fill his space, and we all know that is a large space for me to fill,” he explained.
Nana Romeo also confirmed that Abeiku Santana is fully aware of his new role and has given his blessings.
“He is aware. How can this go on without Abeiku’s knowledge? Even if I have not told him directly, he knows about it. It is an open secret,” he concluded.
