Popular actor and former NDC presidential candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo has offered his expertise to bring back to life the Komenda Sugar Factory if given the chance. The Komenda Sugar Factory which was established in 1964 became redundant and defunct over three decades ago due to technical difficulties and mismanagement.
Dumelo made this assertion following JoyNews editorial titled “Komenda Sugar Factory: A rusting investment” Taking to micro-blogging platform, Twitter, the father of one revealed how and the strategies he intends to adopt to revive the Komenda Sugar Factory given the nod to manage it.
He wrote;
“I can revive the Komenda sugar factory if given the mandate. That factory will start producing sugar within 16 months (Considering planting and harvesting of sugarcane). The factory needs about 200,000 tons of sugarcane(pa) to operate at full capacity. We can do it!”
