Samuel Nartey George, the Minister responsible for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, has clearly stated that setting the prices for data is not something he can do directly.
Instead, he aims to implement policies that will make data more affordable for everyone in Ghana.
A few months ago, Sam Nartey George faced criticism for setting up a special committee to investigate ways to reduce data costs.
Despite the criticism, he remained firm in his decision, explaining that the committee’s work is important to achieve significant price cuts.
Speaking in an interview on New Day, Sam George stated, “I can’t set prices for data, I will use policies to ensure affordable data”.
