Ohemaa Mercy’s team has responded to the rumors about the recent arrest of Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, also known as KOKA, in the gospel music industry.
In a formal announcement on September 19, the group announced that following KOKA’s alleged threats against Ohemaa Mercy, they decided to involve the police after consulting their legal counsel.
KOKA, a previous member of the team and promoter for the recent Tehilla concert, said he was owed GHC8,000 and tried several times to retrieve the money with no success.
Because of this, he warned that he would dispatch henchmen to go after the gospel artist if he was not compensated.
Nevertheless, Ohemaa Mercy made it clear that KOKA was arrested because of the threats from her ex-team member. The announcement discredited the gossip that JoyNews host Becky was responsible for KOKA’s arrest.
We want to categorically state that Becky of JoyNews had no involvement whatsoever in this matter, nor was she responsible for the arrest of KOKA, as some have speculated.
“We extend our sincerest apologies to Becky for being unfairly drawn into this situation, despite her complete lack of knowledge or involvement,” the statement noted.
