Astute media personality and entrepreneur, Bola Ray opened up on the origin of his well-known name and the path that has influenced his career in the entertainment sector during a conversation on Spotlight Spin on GHOne with Etornam Kumashie, as reported by MyNewsGh.
Bola Ray, born Nathaniel Anokye Adisi, shared the story of how he came to use the name “Bola Ray” in his childhood.
He explained, “I got the name when I was in SHS. Initially, I had a different nickname, ‘Bongo,’ but I felt it wasn’t distinctive enough. One day, while walking to prep, I stumbled upon a pencil with the inscription ‘Bola on it.’ I thought, ‘Why not be different and call myself Bola Ray?’”
He went on to explain the significance of each letter in his name. The “B” represents “boldness,” “L” stands for “laughter,” and “R” reflects “religiousness,” all of which capture his personal values and character.
Bola Ray also reminisced about his childhood and the unique experiences that helped shape his personality. “My dad was a computer programmer, and I remember the unforgettable road trip we took in 1986 when we drove from Obuasi to Accra. That journey remains one of the best memories of my life,” he shared with nostalgia.
