Yaw Dabo, the popular Ghanaian actor, has responded to the widespread attention surrounding his age following an interview he conducted in Spain with Marca.
During a conversation on Wontumi TV, the esteemed Kumawood actor clarified the reasons behind his statement of being 24 years old.
Dabo explained that initially, he contemplated lying about his age. However, he swiftly realized that his purpose in Europe was to garner support for his football academy. This noble objective necessitated upholding principles of integrity and honesty at all times.
Reflecting on his time abroad, the actor expressed that he gained valuable experiences and knowledge. Unexpectedly, the interview in which his age was discussed with Marca ended up becoming a viral sensation.
Dabo admitted that during the interview, conducted by a journalist from the renowned sports media platform, Marca, he visibly hesitated for a few moments before disclosing his age as 24 years old.
“When the white man asked me about my age, I did not want to mention it. If you watched the video, I was a bit hesitant, I wanted to change my age but I reconsidered my decision because I was there to get help for my club.
“Some of these foreigners like truth and loyalty so I decided to say I am 24 years. The interviewer then said, ‘respect, respect’, and from there, we continued with the interview”, Dabo said.
