I DON’T EXPECT OKYEHENE TO SPEAK THIS WAY – Fred Agbenyo

The NDC’s deputy director for international affairs, Fred Agbenyo has castigated the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, over a recent remark he made regarding Ghanaians.

In the early hours of Wednesday, the Okyenhene went viral after a video showed him calling Ghanaians who had been criticizing the president “withces” and “villagers” and referring to people who were condemning Nana Addo because of illicit mining surfaced on the internet.

“You wake up and go to do galamsey. It’s the youth I am advising. That galamsey that they give you GH¢100 is not sustainable for your future. Nana Addo has given you Free Senior High School. Soon even with Bachelors degree you would have to sweep the floor. Let’s stop this. Let’s appreciate the things he has done for Ghana and protect him.”

The Akyem Abuakwa overlord added: “The insults, everyone is insulting.

“If you are well trained, you cannot insult the elderly. If you are not a villager then you are a witch. I cannot understand, all the good things Nana Addo has done, and has been said across the world, God blessed us with this, Gold. If we manage it well, our country will be the envy of many. They cannot match us.”

“None can get close. Some chiefs are part. A chief who has not seen GH¢40,000 before is shown a recognisance license. He would collect the GH¢40,000. He has no idea what is happening elsewhere. Those in charge of affairs, if you really love this country, you would not destroy it.”

Fred Agbenyo responded to Okyehene’s remark by criticizing the chief, claiming he hadn’t anticipated the chief to use such strong language.

“How on earth can Okyenhene say those who are criticizing and insulting the President are villagers, witches and wizards. What is he talking about? I am not surprised because he is a beneficiary of everything.

“I don’t expect him to speak the way he is doing.”
