The news that Highlife artiste Kofi B known in private life as, Kofi Boakye Yiadom, had died on February 2, 2020, shocked and saddened fans of highlife music.
After his death, a number of people asserted that Ofori Ampnsah, who is alleged to have cursed him, was the cause of his demise
Two years after his friend’s death, Kofi B passed away from a heart issue, as revealed by Ofori Amponsah, debunking any claims that he had killed his old comrade.
“Kofi B had heart problems way back. He had an issue with blood pressure. It was by the grace of God that he lived up to the age he finally died. People are just not telling the truth; this is the story, we all knew that my brother was suffering from this”.
When Ofori Amponsah was asked if he had actually killed his brother Kofi B, he firmly replied, “Never.”
Ofori Amponsah continued by saying that he had previously overheard someone making a comparable remark during an interview, but he had chosen not to respond.
“If there is anyone I have helped in the industry, then it must be Kofi B”.
He acknowledged that he helped Kofi record his debut album while Ofori Amponsah did not, and that he helped Kofi move into the house that Daddy Lumba had given him.
“When I had not released an album, I was looking for sponsorship for Kofi B. People even laughed at me when they hear this. All the hit songs of Kofi B are mine. Counting from “Yaw Dompre”, “Mobro Wa”, Koforidua Flowers” among others.” Ofori Amponsah told TV XYZ in an interview.
