I DON’T STEAL PEOPLE SONGS – Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian artist Kuami Eugene has responded to accusations of allegedly taking music from other artists, a practice some consider to be theft.

In a discussion on Hitz Fm in Accra, the famous singer addressed misunderstandings about how he creates music.

“I don’t ‘steal’ music,” Kuami Eugene asserted firmly, countering the persistent rumours that have surrounded his work.

He emphasized that as an artist, he draws inspiration from a variety of sources, often incorporating unique elements to develop his own distinctive sound.

“Every artist takes influences from different places,” he explained, highlighting the collaborative nature of the music industry.

Citing iconic figures like Michael Jackson and successful Nigerian musicians like Davido and Wizkid, Eugene argued in favour of the widespread habit of using lines or melodies from others.
