Gospel music sensation Gifty Adorye, widely known as Empress Gifty, has vehemently refuted claims that her husband’s political clout was a major factor in reviving her singing career.
She refuted rumors, saying that before getting married, she had already cemented her place as one of the nation’s leading gospel performers.
She made it clear that her relationship with a political person had no bearing on the development of her art.
She emphasized that her success was the result of her own efforts, even if she acknowledged her husband’s assistance during their marriage, especially when it came to navigating some parts of her work.
During an interview with MX24TV as reported by GhanaWeb, Empress Gifty addressed the claims head-on.
When questioned about the belief that her marriage to a politician increased her notoriety, she answered saying,
“I was Empress Gifty before I met my husband [Hopeson Adorye]. I always say that he was the icing on the cake. My brand was already at its peak before I got married.”
She further elucidated, “So, when I hear people talk about my marriage to a politician impacting my life, it does not bother me. I see my husband as the head, and I give him the respect due because I need love and attention. I don’t add what my husband does to my career; it’s not part of my ministry.”
Empress Gifty recently addressed concerns about being married to a politician and its impact on her career.
