Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has revealed how he plans to resolve land issues throughout the nation if he is successful in becoming president.
He intends to put in place a system that will digitize land ownership documents and make sure they are easily available when needed.
He thinks that transferring land records to digital format will help resolve disputes peacefully and avoid confrontations among those entrusted with guarding the land (land guards).
On one of his campaign stops, Bawumia promised that if elected president, he would implement a program to settle land conflicts in order to promote peace.
“One of my initial tasks as president will be to complete the digitalization of land. This is to confirm that issues of land ownership, including those of state lands, are digitalized, so people won’t need to resort to land guards who may resort to violence to assert land ownership.
“I am confident that with your support, we can digitalize our land registry nationwide, which will significantly reduce disputes,” he said in a video shared by EDHUB on their X account
