“I LOVED HIM, BUT SOCIAL MEDIA GOT IN THE WAY” – Adwoa Tee Opens Up About Breakup with Paradise
Ghanaian content creator Adwoa Tee has opened up about the pressures that ended her relationship with fellow digital creator Paradise, highlighting how social media scrutiny and unresolved misunderstandings ultimately led to their split.
Speaking in a candid interview on The Delay Show, Adwoa Tee explained that the relationship began with a strong emotional connection. The pair first met at the FixTheCountry protest, after Adwoa, already an admirer of Paradise’s work, introduced herself and exchanged contacts. Their friendship blossomed through regular communication, with both eventually spending more time together and attending events like BhimFest. By January, their bond had naturally evolved into a romantic relationship.
However, the relationship lasted only two to three months, with Adwoa attributing the breakup to persistent social media trolling and mounting external pressures. “I’m someone who gets trolled a lot online. When that happened, he was the only person I felt I could talk to. He offered me comfort. I loved him,” she said. “We had some misunderstandings that led to the breakup. Initially, I thought we would get back together, but there were several issues. Social media pressure contributed to it.”
She described Paradise as “a cool guy,” noting that he is a year younger and had paused his education to focus on content creation before recently returning to school. Reflecting on the relationship, Adwoa said, “We haven’t been together for a while now, so I’ve forgotten most of the memories. A lot has been clouded in my mind.”
