Ghanaian rap sensation, Emmanuel Kofi Botwe known popularly as Kwaw Kese, affectionately known as “Abodam,” opened up about the unexpected role Facebook played in shaping his love life.
The rapper shared the amusing tale of how he found his wife, Nana Pokua, aka Poks, through the social media platform.
In an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Kwaw Kese reminisced about the unique encounter that marked the beginning of his romantic journey.
He humorously revealed that his wife was drawn to him during a period of his career when his eccentricity, or “Abodam” persona, was at its peak.
Despite initially failing to connect with Nana Pokua at Reggie Rockstone’s Office nightclub, Kwaw Kese didn’t give up.
Turning to Facebook, he embarked on a determined quest to find her, revealing, “I went through rapper Scientific’s Facebook friends, and I saw Nana Pokua, so I sent her a DM.”
The rapper’s unconventional approach paid off when, after a week-long wait, Nana Pokua responded, sparking a conversation that changed both their lives.
As they navigated their relationship, Kwaw Kese shared insights into the challenges they faced, including the adjustments Nana Pokua had to make to accommodate his public persona.
Despite the hurdles, the couple’s love story has endured, with Kwaw Kese currently focusing on promoting his latest song, ‘Awoyo Sofo.’
