Ghanaian media figure Kofi Adoma Nwawani has addressed the public for the first time after being shot in the eye in Dormaa Ahenkro in December 2024.
Kofi Adoma, during a press conference, recounted the extent of his suffering since the eye incident and shared personal information about the condition he is currently facing.
The Kofi TV executive and employee of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) disclosed that he has been deeply unsettled by various reactions to the news of his shooting, especially remarks claiming that he was not actually shot in the eye but merely had gunpowder enter it.
Adoma arrived at the press conference with her eyes puffy and shut, and not working correctly. He was wearing a bandage on one eye and disclosed that he is still struggling with intense headaches and discomfort.
He mentioned that he has chosen to share his story since he is uncertain about how things will ultimately turn out for him.
Adoma disclosed that after the shooting, he began experiencing pain in his eyes, yet he did not realize the seriousness of his situation. He genuinely wished to keep reporting on the festival but eventually had to stop due to overwhelming pain.
He traveled to Accra to consult a doctor, and that was when he discovered the seriousness of his condition and that he required transportation outside.
Kofi Adoma, accompanied by his wife, also conveyed some disappointment that the Dormaahene did not contact him after the incident.
