The Ghana Police Service has initiated an inquiry into a potential case of kidnapping and assault concerning an adult woman, after a troubling video surfaced on social media.
The short video, which has become viral, depicts a clearly upset woman in what looks like a compromising scenario, raising significant public concern and calls for prompt action.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 29, the Police reassured the public that actions are being taken to find and capture those responsible for the purported crime.
“The Ghana Police Service is investigating an alleged case of kidnapping and assault of a female adult captured in a viral video. We assure the public that we are working around the clock to get to the bottom of the matter and get those behind it arrested,” the statement read.
Although information is limited, the Police state they are reviewing the video and attempting to identify the people connected.
The Police have urged anyone possessing reliable information that may aid in the investigation to step forward.
