MC Portfolio has apologized to Shatta Wale and his numerous fans following controversial remarks that provoked backlash during a recent show on Angel FM.
The apology was made during the Fakye Showbiz segment on Fakye TV, where MC Portfolio recognized the offence his remarks had created.
The conflict started when MC Portfolio, alongside Stonebwoy, disclosed that certain Bhim fans had advised him to reach out to Shatta Wale’s mother and return the GHC 5,000 gift Wale presented to him during an earlier interview on Angel FM in Kumasi.
The proposal was put forward to placate Stonebwoy, who competes with Shatta Wale.
The situation rapidly intensified when Mawuli Ekpe Peter, referred to as Abro, an avid Shatta Wale fan, challenged MC Portfolio regarding his remarks. The conversation became intense, and tempers rose, almost sidelining the program.
Initially, MC Portfolio disregarded the concerns, but later he recognized that his comments were unsuitable and might have been perceived as disrespectful to the SM community.
MC Portfolio said, “I deeply regret the comments I made. I understand now how they could have hurt Shatta Wale and his fans, and I sincerely apologize. My words were ill-chosen, and I recognize the importance of being mindful of the impact they have.”
