DON’T DARE DOWNLOAD MY FILMS AND SHOW THEM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION — Lilwin Issues Warning To Ghanaian TV Stations
Ghanaian actor, director, and producer Kwadwo Nkansah, better known as Lilwin, has issued a harsh warning to television stations across the country, cautioning them against pirating his works.
The comedian did not mince words as he criticised station owners and CEOS for reportedly airing Ghanaian and Nigerian films without the required permission in a video posted on social media on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
He conveyed his intense annoyance at what he called a lack of backing for the regional film industry.
He claims that although these stations spend a lot of money on imported content, such as telenovelas, they frequently use local productions, especially Nigerian movies that they get from YouTube, to fill their schedules.
“I can’t fathom how stations would pay for telenovelas but download and show Nigerian movies for free,” he lamented.
Lilwin stated unequivocally that he would not allow any station to broadcast his YouTube videos without his consent, threatened legal action if this were to occur, and implied that he would personally escalate the situation if court proceedings took too long.
“The money I will demand when I sue you, erh… And if the case drags, I’ll take it to another level you won’t understand,” he threatened.
