I WANT TO BUY NOTTINGHAM FOREST TO PROMOTE GHANA – McDan

Ghanaian entrepreneur, Dr. Daniel McKorley, has publicly declared his keen interest in acquiring the Premier League club Nottingham Forest.

During a Joy Thought Leadership seminar held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Monday, the 52-year-old Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group of Companies disclosed that Nottingham Forest is the sole football club he passionately supports, aside from his allegiance to the Ghana Premier League team, Great Olympics.

“The only team I support in the world apart from Oly [Great Olympics] is Nottingham Forest,” Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan said.

“I have been a supporter of Nottingham Forest when Nottingham was even in the third division. Why? Because I want to buy that team. I want to buy Nottingham Forest. Imagine with all this development going on.”

He further expressed his aspiration that his investment in the local football system would bear fruit, ultimately leading to a scenario where over half of the team comprises Ghanaian players participating in the Premier League.

“McDan buys Nottingham Forest and every time you see about 60% of the players [in the team] from the English league are from Ghana.”

The Joy Sports and Joy Business Thought Leadership seminar centered around the theme “Football Economy: Adapting Our Development Approach – Drawing Insights from the Saudi Arabian Experience.” This event convened experts to explore how Ghana can utilize the Saudi Arabian model to enhance its football industry development.
