Ghanaian musician, Safo Newman has disclosed that he has been advised by individuals to take illegal drugs that would enhance his confidence during performances.
The ‘Akokoa’ singer said he remains steadfast in his identity despite advice from others not to stray from it.
“People have actually recommended that I should do some of these things [drugs] so that I will go wild [on stage].
I won’t be doing that. I don’t think I can do that,” he made this comment on Hitz FM while talking about people’s criticism of his calmness on stage.
During the interview with Andy Dosty, Safo pointed out that his introverted personality causes problems for some people because they do not recognize variations in individuals’ temperaments.
Since gaining fame with his song ‘Akokoa’ earlier this year, Safo has faced strong backlash for his fashion sense and lacklustre stage presence during performances.
He has admitted that he is striving to enhance all his flaws while creating music that not only energizes people to dance but also stimulates their minds with thought-provoking material.
Safo Newman, known for songs like Miss Issabela, Sorrow Fly, March Past, and All the Way, has recently released a peace song called ‘NPP, NDC’.
