“I WAS COMPARED TO ANIMAL BECAUSE OF MY LOOKS” – Kumawood Actor, Akurugu Tells Sad Story

Ghanaian Kumawood actor, Kwesi Boateng popularly called Akurugu Baba Yoba has shared the ordeal he goes through and the way he is been treated because of his facial looks.

Akurugu, who has a deformed face, claims that people ignored the fact that he was created in the image of God and mocked him throughout his childhood.

During his ‘Aggressive Interview,’ he told Kweku Manu that he is the only person in his family who was born differently, and they believe he inherited the look from his paternal side.

However, he claims he was never introduced to his father and that all attempts to open his family’s doors following his birth have been futile to date.

Akurugu detailed some of the treatments meted out to him, including being sidelined in school and having no seatmate during his primary period.

“You know, everyone had friends in school; they ate together and did everything together. I didn’t have anyone like that. It was just me and my thoughts. “People compared me to animals, and they never came close,” he lamented.

At home, the situation was no different.

He claimed that he was excluded from all community activities because people referred to him as a weak frog. He was dubbed Mr Frog, a moniker he claimed he was given until he left his hometown of Asante Asaaman.
