‘I WASN’T NAKED, I JUST HAVE THE BODY’ – Nana Adjoa Lovia Addresses Criticism Over ‘Indecent’ TGMA Outfit
Actress Reveals Outfit Was a Stylist’s Creative Decision and She Was Paid to Appear
Ghanaian actress and social media influencer Nana Adjoa Lovia has spoken out following backlash over her revealing outfit at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs). The actress faced criticism on social media for showing what some deemed too much cleavage during the event.
In an exclusive interview on the Afropodstudios podcast, Lovia clarified that her look was a deliberate fashion choice created alongside her stylist, not an attempt to undress or seek undue attention.
“I didn’t go for naked fashion. I picked two different outfits and had my stylist put them together. I wasn’t showing,” she explained.
Lovia further stated that much of the criticism stems from her body type rather than the outfit’s design. “I wasn’t naked, just that I have the body. My breasts are a bit huge, my buttocks too small. Imagine if somebody else had worn that dress, it wouldn’t have gained this much attention,” she noted.
The actress also disclosed that she was paid GH₵15,000 by her stylist to wear the outfit and attend the TGMA event. “For me to even appear at TGMA, I was paid by my designer who paid me about GH₵15,000 to be there. People pay me to wear outfits, and some even pay more,” she revealed.
Lovia emphasized that her brand involves leveraging her physique, which contributes to her income: “The things I have been showing, do you think it’s anything? It’s money.”
