‘I WENT THROUGH IVF AND LOST MY TWIN BABIES’ — Actress Adesua Etomi Shares Heartfelt Fertility Journey

Nigerian actress Adesua Etomi has courageously opened up about the deeply personal struggles she and her husband faced during their fertility journey.

In a candid video shared online on June 13, 2025, Adesua revealed that she underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment with hopes of conceiving twins, only to suffer the devastating loss of the pregnancy.

Describing the emotional toll, she said, “It was a very tough moment for me and my husband,” noting that the couple grieved the loss in their own individual ways.

Initially, the couple considered pursuing a second round of IVF but eventually decided to leave the outcome in God’s hands. “It’s either God does it, or He doesn’t do it,” she shared.

Adesua recounted a pivotal moment in their journey during a church service, where a senior pastor reassured them that medically there was no barrier to conception and urged them to trust in divine timing. The pastor advised them to wait six months, and by May, just a few months later, she was pregnant.

By God’s grace, Adesua gave birth to her first son, now four years old, and welcomed a second son last year, currently around seven months old.

Reflecting on their experience, Adesua acknowledged the pain of losing the twins but expressed gratitude for their family’s ultimate blessing. “A lot of couples break up over issues like this, but in our case, we didn’t. God has been good to us,” she stated.
