Ghanaian actor-turned-politician, John Dumelo has pledged to deal with the housing challenges encountered by the University of Ghana, Legon students residing in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
In an open dialogue at the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on Community Manifesto, hosted by TV3, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate they pointed out various challenges encountered by students in the area.
John Dumelo slammed Lydia Alhassan for ignoring the important issues affecting students at the University of Ghana, Legon.
He also brought up the high fees students are paying, stating that he will tackle this issue when he comes into power, which is in line with the NDC’s manifesto.
“The first thing we are going to do is to address the accommodation issue of the students. It’s very dear to my heart. I don’t think ever since she (Lydia Alhassan) assumed office she has been able to construct one hostel for the students in the university.”
“The most important thing for us is to construct the hostels for students across Ayawaso West Wuogon. Remember that every policy of the NDC is progressive, not instant, because we want quality, not quantity,” he stated.
