Kennedy Agyapong, a potential flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to be rigorous if elected president of Ghana. He emphasized that if his appointee is proven to be lacking for the first time, he will not hesitate to fire them.
Mr. Agyapong promised Ghanaians in an interview with marine news in the US that while he will not be a tyrant in his dealings as President, no one will be spared if they commit any errors.
“I am not going to be a dictator. I won’t but I will be strict. One mistake, you’re fired. And I am not afraid to fire. I have said it several times that even if my wife makes a mistake I will fire her,” he assured.
Mr. Agyapong also discussed how agricultural mechanization will increase crop production, which could lead to increased export revenue and reduced strain on the nation’s currency.
He reiterated his plan to inculcate patriotism in the populace by having children sing patriotic songs in school and teaching them to love their nation.
For the role of flagbearer, Mr. Agyapong confronts fierce opposition from veterans like Alan Kyeremanten, Mahamudu Bawumia, Boakye Agyarko, Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and others.
