I WILL SUPPORT JOHN DUMELO FOR MP, HON. LYDIA ALHASSAN WAS UNGRATEFUL TO ME AFTER I CAMPAIGNED FOR HER – Actor, Prince David Osei

Ghanaian actor and staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party, Prince David Osei has openly announced his backing for his fellow actor, John Dumelo, as he vies for the parliamentary seat in Ayawaso West Wuogon.

During an interview on GhOne TV on August 23, 2024, Prince David Osei explained why he is supporting Dumelo, who is running on the ‘opposing’ NDC party’s platform.

Supporting his argument, the actor expressed feeling unvalued by Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the NPP parliamentary candidate, due to ingratitude despite his past assistance.

“I don’t care about the candidate there… We stood on a platform and campaigned for the woman the last time. And she was ungrateful. So even though I’m a full-blooded NPP and I speak to power, I will support John,” he stated.

Prince David Osei emphasized that he backs Dumelo not just because of their friendship, but because he truly thinks Dumelo is a superior candidate who would advocate for the creative arts industry effectively.

“It’s not because John is my friend. Because I believe that John is a better candidate. That’s my opinion. He’s one of the creative guys. And I would love to see John in parliament,” he added.

Even though Prince David Osei still supports Dr. Bawumia and other NPP MPs for the presidency, he is resolute in his choice to endorse Dumelo for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat.

“We were told to rally behind Dr. Bawumia and the other NPP candidates. But for me, I’m not rallying behind that woman.

“My dream is for John to win the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency seat. That doesn’t mean I’m NDC. I’m still for Dr. Bawumia for the presidency and for other NPP MPs to go to parliament. But I’m throwing my weight behind my friend,” he concluded.
