‘I WISH SARKODIE HAS THE BACKING OF A MAJOR RECORD LABEL’ – George Britton

George Britton, CEO of GB Records, has emphasized the significant benefits and honour it would offer the Ghanaian rap star, along with the positive effect on Ghana’s reputation.

“I wish Sarkodie has the backing of a major label,” he said.

Speaking on ClassFM’s Morning Show (CMS) with Prince Benjamin (PB), Britton acknowledged Sarkodie’s achievements but pondered, “Is his name as widely recognized globally as Burna Boy’s?”

“Walking the streets of London, four out of every five people know Burna Boy. I wish our Ghanaian talents enjoyed that level of recognition,” he lamented.

With 15 years of experience as a talent manager, Britton stressed the significance of Ghanaian artists partnering with international record companies to gain exposure on global platforms and media channels.

He cautioned that Ghana could lose a significant amount of revenue and opportunities in music tourism if it does not form partnerships.

“I want our artists to step out of their comfort zones and negotiate beneficial deals with international labels,” he urged.
