‘I’D RATHER SELL PLANTAIN THAN GO SECULAR’ – Gospel Artiste Scott Evans Declares

The award-winning musician stated his unwavering commitment to his faith, emphasizing that his mission is to serve a "King" and touch souls, not chase commercial success.

Ghanaian urban gospel artist Scott Evans has stated he would prefer to sell plantain by the roadside than transition to secular music.

The “100 Percent” hitmaker made these remarks during an interview on Hitz Praise Zone, where he discussed the profound conviction behind his musical ministry. He expressed that he feels no pressure to conform to mainstream trends, stating, “I’m just serving a King and relaying His message to the people.”

When directly asked if he would ever consider a switch to secular music, Evans responded with firm resolve. “If I ever get the chance to be a secular artiste, I’ll rather sell plantain by the roadside instead. There’s nothing attractive in it for me,” he asserted.

His comments have sparked positive conversations among fans and industry observers, with many commending his boldness and unwavering dedication in an industry often swayed by the allure of fame and financial gain.

Scott Evans is currently preparing for his annual concert, the Grace Is Luxury Concert III, scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Unique Floral Prestige Court in Tema. The event is set to feature a lineup of top gospel acts, including Kobby Salm, Akesse Brempong, and Perez Musik, for a night of worship and Afro-gospel performances.
