Gospel musician, Diana Asamoah, has justified her involvement in politics and her loyalty to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as he claims that celebrities in other nations also publicly express their political preferences,
Diana Asamoah was questioned about her motivations for entering politics during an interview on Hitz FM’s DayBreak Hitz program.
She made a comparison between Ghana’s political climate and other nations, citing the US as an example, where public figures publicly endorse politicians
“Looking at Obama, when he was running for president, all the celebrities supported him, so why can’t we celebrities in Ghana also choose who to support?” she quizzed.
Diana Asamoah went on to say that politics originated in Heaven and permeates every area of life, including the church.
“Do you know politics started in Heaven? It exists in all aspects of our daily lives, at work, church, and even in Heaven,” she said.
Diana Asamoah, when pressed for an explanation, cited a biblical verse concerning the war in heaven, which started when the Devil tried to usurp God’s authority.
“When God made the devil in charge of all the singers in Heaven, the devil wanted to take over power in heaven. That is politics,” she said.
Diana Asamoah, who is a proud member of the NPP, has been vocal about her support of the party since 2020.
