IF I CAN LEAD UNIVERSITY OF GHANA SRC, I CAN LEAD GHANA — Rapper Guru Declares

Ghanaian rapper and outgoing University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRC) President, Maradona Yeboah Adjei, popularly known as Guru has voiced confidence in his capacity to lead the country, citing his leadership experience at the institution as a solid basis for national government.
In an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, Guru clarified that both experience and knowledge are necessary for leadership in both business and politics.
“If you want to venture into a new business or job, or role, you have to show proof that you know what the work is about and that you can do it.
“The experience is also necessary. That is why people go to school before applying for jobs: to prove that they can do the work,” he said.
The rapper, who attended the University of Ghana to study Political Science and Information Studies, compared national governance to student politics.
From what we have seen, anyone who can be the SRC president of the University of Ghana can rule Ghana, any day, anytime.
The majority of our ministers and MPs were heavily involved in school politics. That is why they are good at their duties. They garnered the experience,” he stated.
Guru highlighted how his time as SRC President helped him develop endurance, tolerance, and strategic thinking by exposing him to the realities of leadership.
“Even I, going to the university and being the SRC president, helped me learn endurance, tolerance, and understanding the process of leadership,” he said.
In closing, he expressed confidence in his ability to lead outside of academic settings.
“So, for me, after successfully leading the SRC of Legon, I can lead Ghana or any position in Ghana without struggle,” he added.
