IF I COMPOSE A SONG FOR A POLITICAL PARTY AND THEY LOSE, IT WILL AFFECT ME NEGATIVELY – Singer, Akwaboah

Highlife star Akwaboah has stated that he is willing to entertain political parties, but he will not create songs specifically for them.

During an interview on Okay FM on 12 September 2024, the singer of the popular song ‘Obiba’ expressed his preference for making music that positively impacts the entire country instead of being associated with just one political group.

Akwaboah stated that there could be negative consequences if a political party fails after composing for them.

If you call me to perform, I would, but if it is to compose a song, no, I can’t. I would rather compose for Ghana as a whole,” he said.

On the contrary, he thinks that aiding Ghana collectively would be advantageous for all.

“If I do a song for Ghana and the country progresses, it would benefit all of us, but if I compose a song for a single political party and it doesn’t work out, it would affect me negatively,” he explained.
