IGP RESHUFFLES TOP POLICE COMMAND
Senior officers reassigned to strengthen leadership and improve efficiency

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has announced a major reshuffle of senior police officers across the country, effective immediately.
According to an internal posting issued by the Ghana Police Service, several Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Police have been reassigned to new roles as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen leadership, and improve service delivery nationwide.
Key Reassignments at National Headquarters
- COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba — moves from Director-General, Technology to Director-General, National Administration and Personnel Development (NAPD).
- COP Iddi Lansah Seidu — transfers from Director-General, Welfare to Director-General, Technology.
- COP Dr. Vance Baba Gariba — shifts from Director-General, Operations to Director-General, Research and Planning.
- COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe — reassigned from Director-General, PPSB to Director-General, Operations.
- DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey — moves from Director-General, Research and Planning to Director-General, PPSB.
- DCOP Eric Ken Winful — reassigned from Director-General, NAPD to Director-General, Welfare.
Regional and Technical Postings
- DCOP Charles K. Adu — appointed Regional Commander, Eastern Sector (ESR).
- DCOP Isaac Asante — moves from Eastern Region to the National Headquarters.
- DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi — assumes role of Regional Commander, Central Region (CR).
- DCOP George Ankomah — transferred from Central MTTD/AR to Regional Commander, Eastern North Region (ENR).
- DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo — previously Director, ICT at National Headquarters, now heads Central MTTD/AR.
The IGP, in a statement accompanying the postings, said the reshuffle forms part of a broader institutional strategy aimed at repositioning the Police Service to meet evolving national security demands.
He emphasised that the changes are designed to bolster discipline, promote efficiency, and deepen coordination across all operational divisions of the Service.
The statement added that all affected officers are expected to assume their new roles with immediate effect.
