Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, the founder and General Overseer of Life Assembly Worship Centre, confidently stated that one of his main objectives as the President of Ghana would be to evict President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo from his current home in Nima.
Andrews stated that the property, initially intended for a Nima Police Station, is now owned by the government after being taken over by Edward Akufo-Addo, father of Nana Akufo-Addo, during his time in office.
The bold clergyman condemned the President for still residing in the property, implying that with the riches Nana Akufo-Addo has gained while in office, he should have already constructed his own house.
“If he’s made so much money during his time in office, why hasn’t he built his own house?” Andrews questioned.
Famous for his contentious remarks and strong resistance against perceived corruption and misappropriation of public funds, Andrews went beyond just criticizing the President.
He also disclosed his intention to eliminate ex gratia payments if he becomes president, wondering why politicians should receive large amounts of money when they leave office, especially after misusing public funds.
“It’s unfair that politicians are the ones benefitting from these payouts. Teachers, nurses, and other government workers who serve the nation selflessly are the ones who deserve such rewards,” he added.
These remarks have further fueled the ongoing debate on corruption, governance, and wealth inequality in the country.
Osofo Kyiri Abosom has portrayed himself as a challenger of Ghana’s political leaders and a champion for transparency, vowing to overhaul the system if granted the opportunity to govern the country.
