Ghanaian gospel singer Joe Mettle has stated his position on working with secular artists, indicating that he is not prepared to engage in such collaborations.
In an interview on Hitz FM on June 20, 2024, the singer of ‘Bo Noo Ni’ explained the reasons behind rejecting a collaboration offer from rapper Sarkodie.
Mettle stated that he is holding off on collaborating with secular artists until he receives spiritual guidance.
He remarked, “Sarkodie and I have talked about it. It’s a door I choose not to open right now. The Holy Spirit has reasons for guiding certain actions, and until I receive that guidance, I feel I can’t proceed.”
He further mentioned that other secular artists, including rapper Manifest, have shown interest in working with him. However, Mettle emphasized his need for spiritual direction before moving forward with any collaborations.
“Manifest has been reaching out frequently. We are close, but I don’t want to rush into it. If I do it once, I might feel compelled to do it for everyone. So, please, no pressure,” he said with a chuckle.
Mettle concluded by saying, “When the time is right and I feel guided, I will consider it.”
