Gospel musician Amy Newman has stated that she will sue any artist who uses any of her songs without her consent.
It is not news that some musicians take old songs of aged musicians and polish them and incorporate them into their own songs. While some seek the concern of the musicians, others don’t.
In an interview on XYZ, the veteran musician issued a warning to musicians who wish to use any of her songs for a rendition.
According to Amy Newman, she finds that act as disrespectful because songs have their own copyright owners.
“Now I have decided that anyone who uses my song without my consent, you will go to court pay the money there for me to take it”, Amy Newman issued a stern warning describing the act as disrespectful.
Amy Newman emphasized that she gets hurt that these young musicians feel a sense of entitlement when using the songs of veteran artists in the music industry.
She further added that most of these young musicians do not have respect for veteran musicians.
“That is what actually hurts me. It hurts me in the sense that I’m an old musician so if you want to take something from your mom, you ask, mummy, can I use your song? That is why I say these young guys do not respect us. They should seek permission”. She said this in an interview with TV XYZ.
