“IN 2025, YOU STILL GATHER PEOPLE UNDER THE SUN FOR SOMETHING TECHNOLOGY CAN FINISH IN MINUTES” – Nana Aba Anamoah Reacts To Stampede At El-wak

Ghanaian broadcaster and journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah reacted to the tragic stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium military recruitment exercise by calling for the modernisation of the recruitment process using technology to prevent similar future incidents.

She highlighted that such an incident, which resulted in the deaths of six young women and injuries to many others, was preventable and criticised the practice of gathering thousands of applicants physically in one place in 2025.

Her post reads;

“In 2025, you still gather people under the sun for something technology can finish in minutes. AI will not replace you; it will protect lives.

Discipline isn’t just about drills and parades bur knowing when to adapt. Modernise Recruitments @Ghana Armed Forces”

Her reaction, shared on social media platforms like Instagram, advocated for a more efficient and safer system, arguing that technology could achieve in minutes what the current chaotic manual process fails to do safely.

The incident involved a stampede that occurred when a large number of applicants, who had gathered since the previous evening, surged toward the gates as they opened, leading to overcrowding and fatalities.

The Ghana Armed Forces has since suspended the recruitment exercise and established a board to investigate the tragedy
