Opposition Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has stated that his party is standing firm despite facing what he claims are politically driven arrests and persecution under the Mahama administration.
He made these comments after the debate on the 2025 Budget Statement on Tuesday, March 25.
“You can arrest all of us, but we will remain resolute. No amount of intimidation will break our spirit. In 2028, we will defeat you and restore true governance to this country,” Afenyo-Markin stated.
Afenyo-Markin accused the current government of using its institutions to silence political opponents, a tactic he believes is unfair and detrimental to democracy.
“A government that prioritises persecution over progress is bound to fail. Ghanaians are watching, and they will decide in 2028,” he asserted.
He called on his fellow opposition members to remain strong and not lose hope, urging them to stand together in their mission to regain power in the next elections.
He emphasized their determination to overcome these challenges and continue fighting for their political goals.
