INADEQUATE SEX CAN ALSO CAUSE INFERTILITY – Gynecologist Dr. Isaac Tetteh

Renowned gynecologist, Dr. Isaac Tetteh, has revealed that inadequate sexual activity can be one of the contributing factors to infertility among couples.

Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show with Valerie Danso, Dr. Tetteh explained that while many associate infertility with medical or physiological issues alone, frequency and timing of sexual intercourse also play a crucial role in conception.

He noted that many couples who struggle to conceive often underestimate the importance of consistent sexual activity aligned with a woman’s ovulation cycle.

According to Dr. Tetteh, the human reproductive system operates within specific biological windows, and failure to engage in sexual activity during those fertile periods reduces the chances of pregnancy.

He continued by saying that couples may overlook intimacy due to stress, hectic job schedules, and lifestyle decisions, resulting in lengthy intervals between sexual meetings.

He claimed that even in cases where both spouses are in good health, this may inadvertently postpone conception.

In addition, he counseled prospective parents to prioritize intimacy and keep lines of communication open throughout the family planning process.

Dr. Tetteh stressed that emotional connection, timing, and mutual understanding between partners are just as important to sexual health as frequency.

He advised struggling couples to consult a doctor as soon as possible rather than depending just on presumptions or conventional wisdom regarding infertility.
