INITIALLY, I THOUGHT SOCIAL MEDIA WAS FOR ‘MAAME WATER’ — Gospel Singer, Piesie Esther

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian gospel artist, Piesie Esther recently discussed her evolving perspectives on social media, recognizing its vital role in promoting her ministry.

At first, the 2023 VGMA Gospel Artiste of the Year connected social media with “Maame Water,” a phrase in Ghanaian culture commonly associated with negative meanings.

“When you take a look at things now, things have changed. Things are not the same as they used to be. Myself, initially, I thought social media was for ‘Maame Water,’ but I later realised it’s a good platform that has become a part of us as humans and can actually support my ministry,” she stated.

Her changing perspective highlights the significance of utilizing modern tools to expand her audience and advance her spiritual goal.

While she adopts digital platforms, she is committed to using her voice to connect with individuals and create a supportive community. Her observations demonstrate that social media has the potential to positively impact ministry by motivating numerous individuals.
