INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE CHRISTIAN TETTEH YOHUNO GIVEN TWO-YEAR EXTENSION TO CONTINUE SERVING

The Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno has been given a two year extension to serve as IGP.
According to Graphiconline.com, a letter of the extension dated November 25, 2025, said President John Dramani Mahama has accepted the recommendations of the Police Council with the conviction that he would continue with the ongoing police reforms and enhance operational effectiveness.
Mr Yohuno, who was appointed IGP by President Mahama in consultation with the Council of State on March 13, 2025, and sworn in a day later, replaced Dr George Akuffo Dampare.
Before his appointment, he served as Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, a role he assumed in July 2024 under former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
