ISLAM WILL BECOME POWERFUL IN GHANA IF BAWUMIA WINS – Pius Hadzide Assures Muslims

The Asuogyaman Constituency New Patriotic Party(NPP) parliamentary candidate, Pius Enam Hadzide has asserted that if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected president, Islam will gain influence in Ghana.

He projected that should Dr. Bawumia be elected, the Holy Quran would be used to swear him in, a move he thought would have a significant impact on the country’s religious population.

Hadzide emphasized the possible effects on the Islamic community, claiming that the Islamic faith would gain significant clout and power in Ghana if Bawumia were to become president.

Since the days of our forefathers, all Presidents we have had are Christians sworn into office with the Bible. For the first time in the history of Ghana Insah Allah 7th January 2025, we will have a new president who will raise the Holy Quran to swear. It will be a pride for all people of faith in the country regardless of the party you support” Pius Enam Hadzide told a section of Muslims in Akosombo.

He added, “Islamic religion will have strong influence and authority. I tell you, it will become powerful in Ghana”.

“So it is the turn of Muslims in the country. I strongly believe that this election, Muslims will support their own in the contest”.

Hadzide mentioned the NPP’s efforts to help Muslims, such as the creation of the Zongo Development Fund, improvements to the Hajj pilgrimage process to improve efficiency and dignity, and government assistance for Islamic schools by sending teachers with the necessary training.

Hadzide stated his belief that the appointment of Dr. Bawumia, a Muslim, would be a dramatic break from Ghana’s historical tradition, in which all previous presidents have been Christians who swear office using the Bible.
