ISN’T SINGING ‘YESU ADI NKUNIM’ AT KODA’S FUNERAL MOCKERY TO GOD? – Ohemaa Woyeje Asks

Ghanaian radio host Ohemaa Woyeje has expressed worries about the song selection at the funeral of the late gospel artist Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, also known as KODA.

The radio host and event host used social media to share her unease about the song choice, especially the rendition of Yesu Adi Nkunim by gospel singers Joe Mettle and others.

Ohemaa wondered if it was suitable to perform Yesu Adi Nkunim (which translates to “Jesus is victorious”) during the funeral, considering the situation of KODA’s passing with a wife and three children.

In her post, she wrote, “Yesu adi nkunim in this circumstance? Is that not degrading to God? Why do we make God look bad in unfortunate situations? A 45-year-old man (KODA) died leaving a wife and children.

She added, “Is Yesu adi nkunim a praise to God or mockery? Can there be a better expression rather than this misrepresentation?”

Ohemaa’s remarks have ignited a discussion on social media, with some people agreeing with her viewpoint. On the other hand, some contend that the song was intended to honor KODA’s belief in Christ, even after passing away.
