“IT RATHER BOOSTED MY CAREER”- Blogger Eugene Osafo Nkansah Claims Abena Korkor Scandal Gave Him 1 Million Followers

The social media commentator, popularly known as Nkonkonsa, breaks his silence on the controversy, stating he was psychologically prepared for a major scandal in his line of work.

Ghanaian entertainment journalist Eugene Osafo Nkansah, widely known as Nkonkonsa, has publicly addressed the highly publicized scandal involving mental health advocate Abena Korkor, revealing that the controversy ultimately propelled his career to new heights.

Speaking for the first time in detail about the incident on the Day Break Hitz show with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie, Nkansah disclosed that the episode earned him one million new followers and did not affect him negatively.

“You this is the first time I am speaking about it in this world,” he stated. “I have seen all the comments, all the insults, all the laughter, trolls and everything. It rather boosted my career. I got 1 million followers from Abena Korkor’s issue.”

When asked how the scandal impacted him personally and professionally, Nkansah was unequivocal: “However, I don’t think it affected me in any way, not emotionally, physically, psychologically, not mentally, not maritally.”

The blogger explained that he had long anticipated facing a major controversy given the nature of his work. “Let me say I was expecting something like this in my career. How can you do this job for twenty years and not expect a scandal? I wanted to experience the scandal, I wanted to know how it feels like.”

Nkansah revealed he had mentally fortified himself against such an eventuality: “Anyway, I knew something will hit me very hard, so psychologically, mentally, my marriage, I was building the walls before it happens.”

His comments provide the first comprehensive insight into how he navigated one of the most talked-about social media controversies in Ghana’s recent digital landscape, turning what many perceived as a career-threatening situation into what he describes as a career-boosting opportunity.
